Kochi Facility:
The facility at Kochi is the back-end design office for the Oil and Natural gas division in Mott MacDonald. This facility acts as the design hub for global large-scale projects that the division undertakes. Currently the facility has a large number of seats and is poised to grow. The operations here are high-end in nature with designs done in AutoCAD, Stadpro, Caesar and CADWorx.
Solution from TFL:
Team Frontline limited got associated with Mott Macdonald from the very beginning of the company setting up the design center at Kochi in the latter half of year 2007.
The Network design and implementation, Computing Infrastructure, Server & Storage, Software including engineering solutions, Power conditioning Equipments and Office automation requirements have been completely met by TFL.
Networking was implemented on CAT 6 cables and HP ProCurve Gigabit Switches mounted on HP Racks.
HP Xeon Servers with RAID mounted on the rack were provided along with HP Storageworks MSA 6000 with many TB of storage space.
HP workstations with a combination of 17” and 19” TFT monitors were provided.
For plotting purposes RICOH A0 color (with image mirroring) and RICOH A3 color printer/plotters were implemented
The EPABX systemm from Siemens was implemented.
System software included MS Advanced Server 2003, MS Exchange Server, Windows XP & Corporate security solution
Application Software used are MS Office, AutoCAD 2007 (engineering design & drafting), Stadpro 2007 (structural Designing), Caesar (plant designing) and CADWorx (oil plant designing).
The workstations are individually backed up by 500VA UPS and the Server and Rack is powered and protected by a number of 3 KVA MNC UPS.
The implementation required multivendor product integration, that too of higher end engineering software solutions. This called for higher levels of co-ordination with all vendors. The deployment gives a glimpse of the System Integration capability of Team Frontline. It has products and solutions from more than 10 different vendors. This indeed was an installation of complex nature. TFL was able to complete the installation seamlessly and on time. The advantage that the client derived was that the pains of integration was taken care of by one SI company.
